Hi my name is Heather
I am a Camberra based private music teacher, performer, composer and session musician.
Education:
Now a graduate from ANU school of music, I've been playing the violin since I was five years old, clarinet since I was ten and I've taken up many other instruments since!
I've studied through the ABRSM practical and theory exams.
In 2007-2008 I majored in both classical and jazz theory, history, composition and performance with Sandra France at Erindale College. In 2007 I was accepted into ANU for both Type1 Jazz and Type 1 classical (but was only permitted to study one!). So in 2008 I studied ANU Type 1 Advanced Music (classical), in which I achieved high distinctions in both semester 1 and 2.
In 2009 I began my university studies at the ANU. I finished in 2012 with a Bachelor of Professional Music Practice (Instrumental Pedagogy). During my studies I focussed on violin (with Tor Fromyr, Head of strings), composition (with Jim Cotter), the Music Education Program (with Susan West and Georgia Pike) and folk music (with Dr Ruth Lee Martin).
Recording/studio work:
2014 started work creating, arranging and recording violin, viola, saxophone, clarinet and flute tracks at David Pendragon's Studio for an album by the very talented Brian Keavil Ralston. Checkout David Pendragon's Recording Studio at https://www.facebook.com/pendragonstudio.
Performance:
I have experience performing in a wide range of musical styles, genres and settings including orchestras, musicals, operas, jazz bands, small ensembles, cover bands, studio recording, a cappella, folk festivals and weddings.
I've been a regular performer in local musicals since I was 14 back in 2005 and orchestras and in 2012 I started singing in an all female barbershop chorus called Brindabella Chorus.

-Played violin on stage at New Parliament House in front of 500+ people at the March in March protest in 2014.
- I sing lead in Brindabella Chorus performing at functions and in national competitions.
- Musicals for local theatre groups including with the Queanbeyan Players Orchestra for 7 years, Fiddler on the Roof with Philo Players, The shows I have played in over the years include Rudigore, HMS Pinafore, Pirates of Penzance, the Yeoman of the guard, Snugglepot and Cuddlepie, The sound of Music, Camelot, The Gondoliers, Illanthe, Fiddler on the roof, Mozart's Magical Flute, Brigadoon Guys and Dolls.
